The recordings were saved; sometimes copies were made for the participants or for individual listeners, but no copies were made available to the general public until early 1989. That's when Charles Rice Goff III, Killr "Mark" Kaswan, and Robert Silverman actually came up with the name: HERD OF THE ETHER SPACE to refer to this loose-knit band of sonic explorers. This archive series presents unaltered Herd Of The Ether Space tape loop improvisations from the 1980's in the chronological order in which they were created.
